June Beattie Obituary

On April 7, 2024, June Beattie passed away in her home, surrounded by her husband, children, their spouses, and her grandchildren.  June was born on June 6, 1940, in Belfast, Northern Ireland to Mary and Samuel Gibson.   She married William M. Beattie on May 31, 1958, in Oxford, England.  June immigrated to Westfield in 1973 with her husband and three daughters.  June is survived by her husband William and 3 daughters, Louise Saloio (& husband John) of Chester, June Tanski (& husband John) of Westfield, and Michele Mayhew (& husband John) of Westfield.  June had 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  June was admired for her strength, determination and her strong faith.  Just a few years after she arrived in the US, her and her husband bought their first home and then went on to buy five more over the course of her life.  Her and her husband were a great team and shared the same ambitions.  June was a crossing guard for the City of Westfield for 25 years.  When she retired, she and her husband enjoyed traveling, spending time in Ireland and with her family.  She was a devout Christian and a member of the Bethany Assembly of God church in Agawam, Mass.  She was loved and admired by her family and will be dearly missed.   A celebration of life ceremony will be a private gathering with family.
