Obituary: SHELBURNE – Louise (Snow) Mitchell, 91, of Montgomery, formerly of Shelburne, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 in a local nursing home. She was born in West Dover, Vermont on August 13, 1918, daughter of the late Weston J. and Blanche (Holland) Snow and lived most of her life on a dairy farm in Shelburne Mass. She was a waitress at the Red Rose Restaurant in Charlemont and a homemaker. Louise was the widow of Verne A. Mitchell who died April 16, 1993. She leaves two children, Robert V. Mitchell of Fruitland Park, Florida and Nancy M. Peckham of Montgomery. Louise was a great influence to her six grandchildren, Linda Healey, David Peckham, Deborah Young , Robert, Gary and Adam Mitchell and her 5 great grandchildren. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing and cooking, talents which she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching wildlife, visits to the seacoast, and a spirited game of cards. Louise was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Bailey and Freeda Allen and three brothers, Louis, Holland and Ralph Snow. Funeral and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
